Skiers, snowboarders, and cross-country enthusiasts revel in this winter wonderland. In summertime, it transforms into a wealth of sun-drenched lakeside and mountain activities. Placer’s Gold Country foothills are home to world-class river canyons, featuring breathtaking rafting, fishing and bird watching. Biking, hiking and horse riding trails crisscross spectacular landscapes. Access to foothill lakes such as Folsom, Rollins and Clementine tantalize water and boating enthusiasts alike. Camping is abundant throughout the county and golfers can enjoy any of the more than two dozen courses sprinkled throughout the county. Placer also is home to world-class rock climbing and accessible off-road vehicle terrain. Whatever outdoor adventures you desire, you’re sure to find it in Placer County.

Hunt & Fish
In this beautiful setting next to the Middle Fork of the American River, you have river access and you can participate in boating, fishing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, gold panning, equestrian/horseback riding trails, and off-highway motorcycle riding.
This is a very steep and difficult trail, which involves numerous switchbacks.
Located just north of Folsom Dam, Beal’s Point has 69 family campsites that will accommodate trailers and motor homes up to 31 feet long.
In the park, family and group camp sites are available.
Piped drinking water, wheelchair accessible restrooms and some vault toilets. Activities include swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, trails for biking, hiking, and horseback riding.
Cisco Grove Campground & RV Park is a nature lovers paradise. With everything from bird-watching to OHV trail access the campgrounds 350 acres offers something for everyone.

This trail along the North Fork of the American River has two methods of access. The portion along the river is 5.8 miles, with opportunities for fishing, camping, swimming, and gold panning.
Located at the base of the Sierra foothills, the lake and recreation area offers opportunities for hiking, biking, running, camping, picnicking, horseback riding, water-skiing and boating.
Popular activities on the reservoir include boating, canoeing, fishing and swimming.
