French Meadows Campground is located on the south shore of French Meadows Reservoir in a coniferous forest. Campground is in close proximity to the Granite Chief Wilderness.
Sometimes you need to take the road less traveled – and occasionally you go a little farther. Spend an adventure-filled night at French Meadows Campground which is located on the south shore of French Meadows Reservoir. The Campground is set in a beautiful coniferous forest where you can hike on the trails surrounding the reservoir and get easy access to the water. The campground is in close proximity to the Granite Chief Wilderness, so there’s plenty to do nearby.
From Foresthill: Drive 36 miles east on Mosquito Ridge Road (Forest Road 96). Campground is on the south shore of French Meadows Reservoir.
Piped drinking water, wheelchair accessible restrooms and some vault toilets. Activities include swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, trails for biking, hiking, and horseback riding.
Located on the coat of Rollins Lake, Greenhorn Park is a full service campground with 40 sites. On site is a general store, marina, boat launch, beach for swimming, showers, dump station and wifi for campers.
This is undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful areas in The Gold Country.
