Take your family out to spend the weekend on the river, or take a quick drive down to French Meadows. Campground is also close in proximity to Granite Chief Wilderness which has many trail systems running through its pristine nature and natural beauty.
From Foresthill: Drive 36 miles east on Mosquito Ridge Road (Forest Road 96). Campground is on Middle American River, 1 mile north of French Meadows Reservoir.
Rich in gold rush nostalgia, and blessed with breathtaking beauty, the Middle Fork of the American winds its way through a deep and remote canyon in the heart of the Mother Lode. Alternately wild and serene, the Middle Fork offers a combination of thrills, excitement and quiet wilderness.
Excellent mix of long and medium holes meandering through mature oaks with a creek that comes into play on several holes.
