Surrounded by a beautiful coniferous forest, Ahart Campground is conveniently located on the Middle American River and is near French Meadows Reservoir. Take your family out to spend the weekend on the river, or take a quick drive down to French Meadows. Campground is also close in proximity to Granite Chief Wilderness which has many trail systems running through its pristine nature and natural beauty.
From Foresthill: Drive 36 miles east on Mosquito Ridge Road (Forest Road 96). Campground is on Middle American River, 1 mile north of French Meadows Reservoir.
This campground has 40 sites with tables and grills. There are toilets and potable water, as well as a boat launch.
With an annual average of 450 inches of snowfall and 300 sunny days, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows is the perfect place to spend the weekend on the slopes.
Via Ferrata, which means “Iron Road” in Italian, is a protected hiking and climbing experience.
