Roseville’s newly renovated history museum includes 16 new displays, all dedicated specifically to the history of Roseville. The children’s area is a place for the young ones to play, learn about history, and basically have their own space while the adults browse the rest of the museum. Be sure to visit the gift shop for vintage items, jewelry, and good old-fashioned fun things for all ages!

This museum presents an overview of Placer County history from the early Nisenan inhabitants through the latter half of the 20th century. It also includes the Placer County Gold collection, the renowned Pate Collection of American Indian artifacts and the original Thomas Kinkade painting “Auburn Centennial.”
Donner Summit Historical Society’s 20 Mile Museum highlights the history and beauty of the Summit. Interpretive signs have been placed mostly along Old Highway 40 and nearby from Auburn to Truckee.
The gallery is balanced with a substantial mix of media and art forms from A (Acrylic) to Z (ok, W for Wood as we have no Z), with every other possible media represented including Bronze castings, welded metal, jewelry, glass, found metal, encaustic wax, fabric art, paper, art cards, watercolor, oil, stone sculpture, and turned wood.
