Originally the Burrough’s Resort built between 1943 and 1947 by Preston McKinley Burrroghs, this property has had many names and owners over the years.
The resort was saved from the wrecking ball February 2002. All of the interiors have been refurbished and have private bathrooms, full kitchens, coffeemakers, televisions with HBO and video tape/DVD players, and of course, Benicia iron beds with nice linens.
The Tahoe Vista Lodge & Cabins are located one mile west of the Rustic Cottages.
Own your piece of Gold Rush History and close by is the Auburn State Recreation Area offering many outdoor adventures.
Nestled at the base of the mountain, this ski-in/ski-out resort offers easy access to the village and the lifts. After a full day of exploring, nothing beats a long soak in the hot tub under the stars, except maybe falling asleep snug in your bed!
While visiting Sugar Bowl much of the historic charm is still maintained within the modern resort. Touches of Austrian and Bavarian character.
