The Auburn Symphony presents highlights from two of Disney’s most extraordinary and groundbreaking animated features, “Fantasia” and its sequel “Fantasia 2000” in concert live to film. Conducted by Ryan Murray, scenes from each of the two iconic films will be projected in high definition on a large screen above the orchestra as they perform classical selections including Beethoven’s “The Pastoral Symphony”, Debussy’s “Clair de Lune”, Phonchielli’s “Dance of the Hours”, Elgar’s “Pomp and Circumstance”, Respighi’s “Pines of Rome”, and Dukas’ “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, among others.

A convoy of motorcyclists representing the National Veterans Awareness Organization will be greeted at the Auburn Veterans Memorial Hall before they begin their annual pilgrimage from Auburn, CA to Washington D.C. The group, composed of veteran and non-veteran patriots, is taking a ten day journey across the United States to bring awareness and recognition to our nation’s military veterans and POW/MIA’s.

This fun MVTA event consists of Kid-friendly, family bike-riding fun, with two routes — a shorter and a longer cycling route winding through the Meadow Vista area. The routes are slightly modified from last year’s event. In addition to the beautiful trails, the Poker Ride feature of this event offers a chance for some cool prizes. Playing cards will be handed out along each route, and the top hands will be prize winners. You don’t need to be a real poker player to win (no bluffing); each hand will judged on its best possible score. Entry fee includes pre-Ride coffee and pastries, and post-Ride pizza and soft drinks.
