The Golden Thread is a live storytelling series where the stories take center stage. Each show features an opportunity for anyone to step up and tell their story and a curated mix of experienced storytellers sharing personal tales that surprise, move, and inspire. Rooted in Auburn but open to voices from everywhere, The Golden Thread connects audiences through the timeless power of live storytelling.

Join Maidu Museum Historic Site for the closing reception of Walking In Our Moccs: Perspectives from Indigenous Artists. Celebrate the artists and their work one last time with community, conversation, and refreshments. Walking In Our Moccs: Perspectives from Indigenous Artists is a community exhibition curated by Sierra Native Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Native families, cultures and environment in Placer County. The exhibition illuminates the experience of “walking in two worlds” through the eyes of contemporary Native American artists. Sierra Native Alliance’s Executive Director, Anno Nakai, states, “Walking in Our Moccs features artwork from youth to elders and creatively illustrates the coexistence of tribal lifeways and mainstream culture, including experiences that marginalize, oppress, uplift and connect Native people to sacred traditions.” This dynamic exhibition includes over 45 artworks in a variety of media, including painting, photographs, jewelry, sculpture, prints, drawings and mixed media. Many of the original artworks are for sale and proceeds support both the artists and the museum.

Ditch the ski jacket for a collared shirt and khakis: Alpine’s Annual Snow Golf Tournament is back for its 40th year! As the only top-to-bottom snow golf course, this highly anticipated spring event is a unique way to spend a day on the slopes with friends and family. The ten-hole course starts at the top of Summit Express chair and meanders its way down the mountain with the last holes bringing competitors to The Chalet for a Caddyshack-themed afterparty.

Come experience “Symphony Under the Sky”! This special event, a collaboration between the Auburn Symphony and Placer Land Trust, brings you the joy of music in the great outdoors! Wander the easy walking trail on the preserve and find musician ensembles tucked in the trees… hear Mozart in the meadow or Bach just around the bend . . . choose your own adventure!

The 34th Annual Cushing Crossing is the best event of the spring season. Join in on the fun, watch big spills, and share some much-needed laughs with our celebrity judges and 2 of the best emcees around. Costumes are highly encouraged! The awards ceremony will immediately follow the event at Cushing Pond. Each category winner will win prizes from our sponsors: Yeti, Smith, Dakine, and Darn Tough.
