The Auburn Art Walks, held in April, June, August, and October of the year, highlight creations by artists who work in clay, glass, wood, fabric, metals, photography, all forms of paint and mixed media. Open studio tours in the spring and autumn afford visitors a personal and experiential view of working artisans. The annual Clayfest presentation and the world-renowned "Feats of Clay" competition and exhibition in Lincoln have gained noted and deserved international reputation. The Magic Circle Theatre and the 3rd Saturday Art Tour in Roseville plays a prominent role in the area’s theatrical productions. Events such as Music on the Green, Evening in the Park, Gold ‘N’ Fiddle, the Lake Tahoe Summer Music Festival and numerous other local community activities attract patrons of all ages. ClayFest is a celebration of the Lincoln community and its long history of clay. ClayFest provides a venue for regional ceramic artists to show and sell their work. The days’ activities include the carving of raw clay pipes provided by the Gladding, McBean factory, demonstrations of wheel thrown and hand built ceramics, traditional Raku firing by the Sierra Foothills Potters Guild, and hands-on activities for children and families. Clayfest is an annual public event held in conjunction with Lincoln Arts’ juried Feats of Clay exhibition and tours which take place in May of each year at the historic Gladding McBean factory in Lincoln. Vendor applications for Lincoln ClayFest are due in March prior to the ClayFest. Work will be juried via PlacerArts online artist registry.
