Ten Things to Do in Placer County Over the Holidays

The Holidays are a time when friends and family come together to celebrate. If you are hosting folks from out of town through the month of December, here are a few ideas to keep everyone busy, and show them a good time … Placer County style.

1) Visit Placer Wine and Ale Trail. Placer County sports the most robust combo Wine and Ale trail in the country, featuring 20 wineries and a dozen breweries. Special note: Farm-to-Tap Breweries (Goathouse Brewing Company, Dueling Dogs Brewery, Hillenbrand Farmhaus Brewery) are all family friendly. (Visitplacer.com/wine-and-ale-trail)

2) Quarry Adventure Park in Rocklin. Open on weekends with the official Grand Opening in March  2019, this downtown Rocklin adventure park is shaping up to be one of the best new attractions in the county. Features include: Zip lines, rock walls, rope courses, children’s structures, paddle boats, and more. (Quarrypark.com)

3) Family Hike at Hidden Falls Regional Park or Lake Clementine in the Auburn
State Recreation Area.

6) Get Your Shopping on. The Fountains and the Westfield Galleria at Roseville always are popping for those families who prefer an urban vibe with upscale shopping, fine dining and drinking. The Fountains pipe holiday music throughout its center quad and have scheduled weekly events. Plus, you can get some last-minute shopping in! And don’t forget Santa for the little ones! (Fountainsatroseville.com, Westfield.com/galleriaatroseville)

7) Visit The Village at Squaw Valley. Take a day trip to The Village at Squaw Valley. Great shopping and an amazing up-scale mountain resort experience. Mix in a day of skiing at Tahoe’s most magnificent mountain, or just take in the many upscale shops and eateries.
